We had an awesome night last night! We were able to go see the night time launch of the space shuttle (sts-123) -- it was so incredible! The launch took place about 2:30 this morning and we were only about 5 miles away. The only disappointment was a low ceiling of clouds -- we lost sight of the shuttle fairly quickly -- but it was still so amazing! It started with a huge ball of fire, then the shuttle lifted gently into the air. The shuttle was already out of view when we finally heard the low rumble.
We didn't get back home until about 6 -- and I've had a couple hours sleep. I think my pillow will be calling my name a little early tonight!!
